    Revit compared to Allplan

    Hello all,

I would like to ask your opinion between Revit and Allplan.
Is there anyone who have experience in both software?

    Best regards,
    Maria

I tried Allplan for a week, probably not the best person to reply.
I felt like being in moyean age. Despite that maybe somebody else would be more than happy of using it.
I would like to see a video to compare the twos.
I found a video that compared Autocad and Revit in doing the same objective and that spoke a lot ( a time counting was running while operators working).
    If I watch...I dream, if I listen...I think, if I do ...I learn.

If your business is doing civil structures and heavy rebar, Allplan definitely has the advantage.

I used Allplan from 2000 - 2007 and still have a licence for v2011 I think (to access old projects).

There are some wonderful modelling features of Allplan - like the way you can use a Digital Terrain Model to become say a roof or wall - and walls can follow terrain.

I switched to Revit because the elevations linked to the model whereas in Allplan the elevations were 2D exports (they may have improved this but I've not looked at the very latest version yet).

Another key advantage for Revit that I always point out to potential users is this community
