    Stacking walls & storey lines

I'm doing a bit of site massing modeling and for each building I am copying a single outline wall up using paste aligned to selected levels yet sometimes I get a solid horizontal line between, other times I don't. Each wall spans between created project levels without offsets, none are joined with the join tool, yet I do want to keep the line at the storey levels. Am I missing something obvious?

It seems splitting the wall or pulling it back from a join and rejoining fixes the problem.

      Now that's a great 'feature' !

Not fun to have to do that to every wall. A slightly quirky fix was to left click the right hand side blue dot at the wall end, that fixed the issue but clicking the left end did not. Strange behavior, possibly 'works as designed'?
