    Sloping Driveways

Okay, I have a circular driveway in front of the Bonanza Ranch. I originally just modeled it in place with extrusions to get it to look correct in plan. And it worked. Here's the issue:

I now want to do a rendering of the front of the house. Well, some parts are at elevation 0, while other are -24" and -30". The driveway hits all of these areas. Obviously, it's sloped in real life. So what's the best way to model a circular drive with slope?

    Hi Dan,

I model driveways and the like as a floor and then use the modify Sub Elements to get the slope.

Easy to talk oneself out of the right answer!!

Floors get used for a whole lot of things that are not immediately obvious. From time to time, I might pop a thin floor under a topo so I can host something on it and have the hosted element sit at roughly the slope of the topo. Roofs also - concrete roof on a commercial building is another time that one might use the floor tool in lieu of the more obvious tool.

          Dzatto, is it realistic view?
If yes how can you set projection lines for each object?
If no you you use shaded with edges view, then how do you apply surface pattern as jpg or png ?

Yep, it's realistic view, but I don't quite follow your question. Can you explain what you are asking?

Ahhhh, I totally forgot that was new in 2012, and set on by default. I curse it daily at work since IT hasn't upgraded me yet. Not his fault, he's only had the program for 6 months.

I think Bango is on 2011 still. Time to upgrade!
