By Linked View - Dimension Behavior

I currently have a project where we are teamed with another architect. We are responsible for the core and shell, they are working on the interior layouts for most spaces (this includes partitions, doors, casework, equipment, etc.).

I am doing some experimenting with By Linked View, and am running into a problem:
    - Dimensions are drawn in the Interior model

    - Shell model has floor plan set to By Linked View, using the view from Interior model where the dimensions were drawn

    - In Shell floor plan view, dimensions show as expected from By Linked View where they were drawn between two walls that are both in the Interior model

    - In Shell floor plan view, dimensions do not show up from By Linked View where they were drawn between a wall from Interior model and a wall from the Shell model

    Is this expected behavior?

    Yes, its working as expected.

Your File >>(Link)>> Their File >>(Link)>> Your File (number 2)

They have your file linked in, but thats not YOUR file. The Link is set to Overlay (not attachment), so that you dont see a redundant copy of your model. That redundant copy is what they have dimensioned.

Its well documented. Its one of the things that makes BLV not a great situation, and Core/Shell / Interiors not a great way to divide up Revit Models. Sorry.
