Modeling either a roof form with a void or gutter that resides inboard?

I am trying to model a roof form with a gutter that resides inboard of the roof fascia, but still allows for the roof form to continue under the gutter to the inside edge of the fascia...any ideas out there? I tried reversing the gutter profile to the interior side of the hosting line, and it hosts there but disappears inside the roof form...it does not create a void. Not sure how I would construct a family for this.
Challenge for the day! You help me figure this one out and I will pick you up at the SD airport and buy you a beer!
