    Sketch classification

    Hello,

I was hoping if someone can help me better understand group classification in Revit.

By Autodesk Help, Sketch elements are "Sketch Plane, Sketch, Path3D and Generic Form". I read about this here:
    Help

Now, I understand that the "Sketch Plane" is the plane on which we sketch, the "Sketch" are 2D elements and I assume that the "Extrusion, Sweep, Revolve, Swept Blend" are somehow part of "Path3D" or "Generic Form"? What is exactly "Path3d" and what is "Generic Form"?

    Thank you.

Without reading your link i'd say sketch defines the profile, 'path 3d' is the direction of extrusion or sweep and 'generic form' is the 3d geometry resulting from (profile) sketches following paths.
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people
