    Horizontal - Vertical Louvers Curtain System

    Hello everyone,
    Hereby m attaching the file which contains a curtain panel which has two main families that is the vertical louvers system and the horizontal louvers system which again if u access from families section and open the family u will find the nested families within which has several parameters within ( horizontal/vertical louvers single blade, horizontal/vertical louver line based & horizontal/vertical curtain panel system)
    Now the problem m facing is as u can see in the file the vertical louvers panels flex according to the height and width divided in the curtain panel but for the HORIZONTAL louvers panel i had to give them a instance parameter which i have to change everytime according to grid height ( width works)...so the problem lies in HORIZONTAL LOUVERS SYSTEM family which is made of nested family - HORIZONTAL LOUVERS LINE BASED which u will able to access through the family section of project once u open the main family.
    Thanks in Advance and see whether u can help me fix the horizontal louver curtain system family ( the problem lies in height i cant see the drag handles which i can lock to the top and bottom reference plane once i assign the horizontal blade spacing a parameter in the curtain panel system family while it works with the vertical curtain panel system )

      In the Horizontall Louver Curtain Panel System.rfa, change the H Panel Height to a reporting parameter (and then label a dimension from top/bottom ref planes) and it'll flex properly.

        Dimensoning the reference planes wont solve the problem bcoz the nested family parameter once linked with the curtain file parameter (reporting) looses the drag handles and blade spacing to be associated

          I'm not sure I understand why you have so many levels of nesting in those families. I would start with the arrays built in the CW panel family itself, and nest the same blade family into both Horizontal and Vertical families. You don't need "handles"; Line-Based families are limiting when nested into families - the Length parameter must be graphically controlled (you cannot assign a parameter to it). In CW panel families, you have access to the center planes of the panel, so I would start building off those. I would start with a workplane-based GM family for the Blade, centered on the template, that has the rotation control and parameter built into it. Load that into the CW panel families (insert onto the Front plane, or one parallel to it), lock to the L/R Center plane, and do the math to drive your Blade parameters and array parameters in the CW panel family.

              Not Working Sir,
              In first place when u model a work plane based generic model (Horizontal Single Blade - in my case ) that cannot be directly hosted onto a curtain wall panel family (it wont flex ). One has to first host it on a line base family which again hosted on the curtain wall panel family will lock to adjacent reference planes..............And whatever but in my case y is the VERTICAL LOUVER SYSTEM works properly ( it follows the same process ) and y the problem is only with the Horizontal Ones

                Sorry, that doesn't make sense. I was able to get vertical and horizontal louvers working in the manner I described (with no line based families). Have you tried that?

                  You could also build the louvers as a curtain wall. You can use mullions at a set spacing and rotation as a curtain wall type. Then just nest that type as the panel for the area you want the louvers. I attached a Revit file so you can see how this is accomplished.

                    that's exactly how I make louvers
