Faster Response w/ Properties Palette

I know that more complicated families are generally slower to respond to changes (lots to think about here) but is there a way to make multiple changes to the properties of the family faster? The only thing I know of is the*DisableMppAutoApply switch in the INI and that doesn't seem to help much.

Ideally, I'd like to make multiple changes to parameters quickly and let Revit figure out how they affect the family after rather than during.

Thoughts?

Sooooo, that's a no. Boo.

I seem to remember (as faulty as my memory is) that, back in the day, I could make a bunch of changes quickly and then apply them. Could very well be that the content I was editing back then was wimpy in comparison to what I'm trying to do now and was faster because of that.

I wasnt being facetious, lol. With all the apps and coding people are doing these days, im amazed someone hasnt tried building a better Properties Palette yet. Properties+ for Navisworks is freaking awesome, for Revit Files.

Interesting. Use Dynamo to make a new version of the Properties Palette... hmmmmmm

I gave it a go using Data-Shapes and it works. By no means is it a replacement (yet?) but it does show a proof of concept.

The biggest issues for me right now with this approach have to do with how Data-Shapes handles and displays inputs. There's too much room around them for what I'm trying to achieve and if there are too many inputs, it pushes them off the screen.

It's also a little slow to start (at least through Dyno Browser) as it first has to initialize Dynamo I think.

It's a big graph, and not nearly big enough it seems, to manage the different data types. Maybe someone else can make something of it...
