Send Grid and Level lines to background

I have change the color of grid and level lines to a shade of gray in order to be less intrusive on the drawing, but in the process realized that lines from model objects that are inline with the grids/levels look like dashed lines. (see pictures)

Is there a way of sending the lines in question to the background to achieve the result I'm looking for, or is there another way?

    Thx for the help.

Make sure you set them to 2D before adjusting, then drag the end of them to the side to get them out of the way, same concept with grids.

I know that is an option, but it's one that I am not concidering at all. Draging grid lines like sugested would result in no grid lines in my drawing... With levels it's a different story, and it's my last option.

Again, I'm asking is there a way to send the mentioned lines to the background?

No there is not because they are not lines in 2D, they are 3D elements. Cut a section behind your detail and you will find the same grids and levels there, too. You can halftone the grids to get what you are after.
