    Lights when no ceiling?

    Revit 14
How do we place lights in a room that has no ceiling? Like a Tele/Comm room that is just open to the structure above? I can't seem to find a dumb 1x4 fluorescent fixture that doesn't require a ceiling to be placed in and I can't find a parameter anywhere to edit to let it be ceiling hung.
    Thanks!

You use unhosted or Work Plane Based Light Fixtures. They are out there. Even Face Based will work, if you specify a work plane for them.

Okay. That's what I figured but was hoping for a hidden parameter I just hadn't found yet. Thank you!

aha, I've been just creating a really small ceiling (1" X 1" or so) and hosted the light to that, cant really see it, but I guess if you're scheduling ceilings it might be a problem...

You can also use a Basic Ceiling that is filtered out though I think you need to flip the fixtures after placement.
