    Walls and columns

When you are drawing a wall which intersects with columns, does Revit automatically Boolean the 2 forms together so that suitable voidsare scooped out of the walls?

Why is it that if I set visual style to hidden line thisseems to be the case but if I set it to wireframe, the wall seems to go rightthrough the wall?
    Thanks in advance.

No revit doesn't "cut" the wall to the column.

Architectural columns can automaticly embed, if that is what you trying to do. It is a family setting. They do not cover the same aspect as the structural columns do, so please do not get that mixed up

OK if I open my column in family editor, what am I doing wrong?
Do I need to tick the box “Cut with voids when loaded”?

You have opened a structural column, not an column (ie architectural column). But again. Do not mix up those two, as they have different sets of properties. If the column is acting as a pilaster, covering up stuff etc., then use a column. If the column is bearing, use a structural column.
