2011: Should the ambient occlusion pass show up in plots?
I've got several views that are set to shaded-with-edges and have ambient occlusion turned on. When I plot these views, either directly to the plotter or to PDF files, the ambient occlusion effect does not show up.
Is this just something weird with my setup or is this a "feature"?
Julien, exporting indeed does sometimes work (on smaller sizes). But that wasn't the question: will it PRINT? The answer to that question is no, it won't. You can't print AO to pdf or directly on plotter. The only workaround is creating an image by export and reimporting this. Also you can save a view as an image from within revit and place this on a sheet. This should work also. (again, only for sizes smaller than 2000 pixel).
1. Any updates on this 2000 pixel limit on ambient occlusion export ? Does it still apply ?
2. Is there a 'live' work-around the export image method ? Once the image is exported, it is 'dead', any way to have an image that will update itself without the user needing to re-export and re-insert into sheets every time ?
