"Can't keep elements joined" error during sweep void cut

    Hi everyone

I need some help to create a fillet edge by using a sweep void cut but I'm getting can't keep elements joined error which I cannot understand where is referring to. Can someone solve it for me please? And explain me what's wrong. The file is in Revit 2014 format.

PS: Anyone knows if Autodesk is planning to add a fillet tool someday in the future? There are unlimited times when it can be useful.

I usually get that error when the void sweep ends on the edge of the solid. You might try to extend the path line past the solid.

As to the fillet, there is such a tool already:

      - I did extend the path, check the attached RFA file.
      - No that's not fillet tool for surfaces and solids, that is for lines.

Yes. You didn't really specify you were looking for a fillet tools for surfaces and solids though.

I guess was pretty obvious mate. That's what I was trying to achieve in that Revit family.

I agree, a 3D fillet tool would be great.

In regards to your question however, I find that Revit has trouble cutting long sweeps in one pass. Perhaps you could try and and create multiple void forms (one for each curve in the profile) instead. That's worked for me in the past.

*EDIT* Also try to ensure that the edges of your profile are not flush with the solid geometry, let it hang over the edge of that cushion. I just had a play with your family and it seems to work after doing what I just wrote. Good luck, I hope I was of some help.
