    Revit vs. Microstation

    Hello everyone,
We have a client that wants files in Microstation. Can you convert a .RVT file into Microstation .dgn files and it retain BIM information. Or, does Bentley have software that creates a single file like Revit that will retain the info?

    Thanks

Bently Architecture or Bently Strucutre are the versions of Micostation what have "BIM" information. I know of now way to do Revit--->Bently or Bently--->Revit, with the information still there.

This forum is dedicated to Revit so... any more information on Bently will be hard to come by.

    Hope this helped

If this is a USACE CoS job, there is currently NO WAY to get an "acceptable" model in Bently Arch, from Revit. They will not accept an IFC translation, nor one done by any of the "converters" out there- which basically work through IFC anyway) (if you are working with the CoS and they have someone who actually reviews the model). Having said all THAT, a lot of the USACE (its by district) are not letting people work in Revit and submit RVT's in place of DGN's. But for the areas stull requiring DGN's, your options are: Work in Bentley, work in revit then pay someone else to remodel it in bentley, or dont do the job, lol...

To export to DGN you first have to go from your RVT to DWG to DGN.

Revit will export straight to DGN (microstation 2d format)

            Hi,

Take a look at this. It might work for you if you have a microstation product in your office.
