Pattern V/G override for linked file disappears when link was replaced

    Well and truly baffled:

I set a custom V/G override for a linked file (simple) to show elements in the link with a grey solid fill. I replace the link via 'reload from' with another simple file, V/G override unchanged, as expected. Now I replace the link with a slightly older, big project. The V/G override is still grey, but my pattern override has disappeared!
View template suffered the same effect.

    Am I missing something here?
There must be a better way...

Well, I don't really know if it's related. But I have the same problem when using View Template based filters with a color override. They seem to randomly delete the color override. Sometimes it comes through, sometimes it doesn't. Very frustrating...

Haven't tested in 2012... what version are you on?

Try the workaround in this thread and tell me if it's working..

I'm guessing the problem might have something to do with this. It might be that the first testfile you chose a pattern from the template (same ID), while the other file didn't have that pattern with the exact same ID in it. Which causes the error...
