Not To Scale

I'm sure I'm overlooking something very simple here, but how do you make a view callout read N.T.S. or Not To Scale in the sheet?

I drew a one line diagram for my electric service as a drafting view, then inserted it in my sheet. Was there another way I should have done it?

You need to create a new View Title. in the Project Browser under Families and then under Annotation Categories you'll find the view titles already in your project, just edit one of those.

Go to the view > click on the list of scales > Custom > activate "Display name" > Type "Not to Scale" > OK.
Once the view is placed on a sheet, the title will be "Not to Scale".

I tried that, but it doesn't give me the dialogue box. It just says custom in the view scale properties.

Never mind, it works if you use the scale list at the bottom of the view, just like you said! Thanks Alf.

Thanks Dave! I'm glad it wasn't just me. I tried to do it in the properties, but that doesn't work. It has to be at the bottom of the view. I guess I should have asked Alf a long time ago. lol

Alf Great deal of help, but does anyone know how to make a viewport 9"=1'-0"

you can't. Custom scales have to be an integer as far as I know. 1.33 won't work.

Dan is right. The XP vaule of 9"=1'-0" would be. 12/9= 1.33 (1:1.33) 1.33 is not an interger and thus is not a valid scale within Revit. There is a reason why we have pre-defined scales.... I have never seen a single person who has a ruler with a 9"=1'-0" scale on it.
