    Roof cut

Is it possible to cut a section from a roof as shown in the image? I want to omit the red section.

    Thanks

yes, model and in-place family void, roof category, and then use cut geometry to cut the void from the roof.

      Thanks Scott, works perfect.

Procedure for those who are unaware...

      Home/Component [dropdown]/Model In-Place

Family and Parameters/Family Category - select roofs or whichever type requires a cut
Provide a name for the void

Select Extrusion or alternative from Forms
Draw profile for the extrusion and provide Depth value
Properties for the extrusion, Identity Data select Void

Use Cut Geometry tool to cut the void

You could use Vertical Opening on Home Tab. Same result and a lot quicker

Looking at the OP image, I´d say that it could even be achieved by setting the "Rafter Cut" and "Facia Depth" of the Roof to the right values...
