Cut Profile gone wrong?

Checked and double-checked this little bugger, and it seems to do the right thing on other items, except for this beam. Doing view > cut profile, create a single line where the beam has te be cut off, click finish, and this message appears (see attachment). I've tried the pick lines and line tool, trim to corner, trim single element, but none of it seems to address this issue. Zoomed in a gadzillion times and am sure that the grip points lie on the boundary lines.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure this isn't a Wall Profile? I know you can't cut those with CP.

Quite sure: properties says structural framing (other). And computer says no.

Well, you're right. Tested this and it doesn't work for framing (does for columns btw, which I find kind of inconsistent). Never noticed this cause I simply created a new beam profile with tapered corner for my "muurplaat" (sorry for the dutch term, it's common use here but GT doesn't translate properly).

Don't know that either. Tested CP at the adjacent side of the building (same detail, only flipped#, and it turns out that this one actually does work. Same family, same type, same properties, except for the lateral justification, but changing that doesn't resolve it.

Going on with the project, but still curious what causes this.

Not sure if this will work but you can try.
Draw a Ref plane where you wan the beam to be cut and use the cut geometry tool.

Worth a try.
