    "This product failed to uninstall."

Message from the Uninstallation dialogue of RAC 2012... Which has to be uninstalled because of the license fiasco where i cant switch it from Standalone (what i used to get the 2012 release ready) and the Network License Manager (what IT got up and running last night).

This machine hasnt had an issue, not a single issue, going from 2010 > 2011 > 2012... Including RAC, RST, RME, ACA, Navis, and ADR... And now it wont even uninstall. Ive got a spirited letter waiting for whoever decided to "change" all of the deployment and installation garbage. I shouldnt even HAVE to uninstall it, let alone hand my rig over to IT to lay waste to the Image on my machine.

Between this and upgraded Revit Sever last night, i am NOT in a Happy Revit Mood.

      Thanks for the link, Scott.

Chris at Support sent me a similar one, about blowing away the program directory manually, and then deleting all of the AppData, PrograData, %User% files, and then clearing out the registry.

Ive heard from so many others about this sort of thing, ive just been blessed from 8.1-2012 Standalone, with never having a single problem. First time for everything, i guess.

Trying the reinstall now, to finally get our office up and rolling. Ill report back. my mood will certainly be indicative of my success rate, hehehehehe.

Go have a beer or seven and then come back. Your mood should be better.

No dice, on the damn uninstall. Manually went through the Registry, deleted all of the keys, after deleting all of the various files as well. It uninstalled fine, but 2012 then refused to INstall because it found a reference to the former "Standalone" license somewhere, despite everything being deleted.

I can tell its going to be a crappy week.

              Hey Aaron.

AS you know I had exactly the same trouble unistalling 2012 Beta and then the same issue installing RAC 2012. I did all the cleanup things as mentioned on the Autodesk site, but that didn't work. The only way was to reformat my hard drive and start again

Did you do a clean uninstall of all the "suite" programs. or is it a standalone version.
Doesn't the license for the suite work across all programs within the suite depending on the product code you used to activate?
If you still have that license from lets say 3ds max for example lying somewhere on your drive, wouldn't the installation pick up on that and throw you the error?

Well here is a ritual, every new revit version means format C partition. Clean windows is a clean home

But this year.... 2012 is crashing a lot. Lucky i have 2011 too.

Negative, negative, negative. It went from BETA to BUILD just fine, thats why im SUPER ******. I just simply had to uninstall then reinstall the SAME DAMN VERSION, so i could change the licensing, and it wont let me.

Fast forward a few hours: Restored the machine to a System Restore point (pre 2012 products at all), so that i can keep on trucking. This restore point is old enough that 2012 isnt here, but some 2010 products still are.... Which now will not uninstall. ACA wont, and C3D wont. Awesome. But, at least im up and running again. IT has me slated to get reimaged soon, but i told them to do mine last, so the staff can get what they need first. Looks like my machine will just be a friggin mess until then. All over this RIDICULOUS licensing change.
