RAC 2012 Communication Center- Automatically following Blogs.

Even if they are blogs by the Factory, that is really really irritating.

Im glad i noticed that. Seems like theres going to be a lot of set up in shutting off all of the stuff i dont want turned on, on all of the workstations.

    *Sigh*

    Aaron,
killing CrashCenter is one of the things in my post install script. Will be posting here when done.

On that note, anyone in Windows 7 who wants to validate the quality of ComCenter, just run Reliability Monitor. I am seeing 5-10 crashes of ComCenter, a DAY! Same in 2011. Useless and unstable junk. The two warnings you see here in the PNG are a Google Update failure and an nVidia driver install failure. ALL the Critical events since 2012 was installed on 4.12 are ComCenter crashing.

Looks like they forgot to add the RSS feeds from RFO to the Com Center.

Edit: MarkB already made a post on how to kill the Com Center (or Crash Center ? LOL)

Are you kidding? I suspect I will still owe you even if you find the script hugely useful.

But I sure need to get it done soon. I want to have the option of moving to 2012 within a week or so.

I was shooting for the first week of May, but a few snags with the new deployment set-up are going to push us back another week or two, im worried. I knew a bunch of stuff was changing, and im spending a lot of time on new content (which i was planning, but thought id be moving faster), but i wasnt expecting to have to come up with new ways to distribute the office standard config files. But, maybe i can make something out of the new citrux opportunities, lol...

It should be very easy to deploy if its just a reg edit. Right... Group Policy... vbs script... take your pick

Thanks, I'd forgotten all about Comm center.

I turned everything off via cadmanager but I notice that there is still a tick box enabled in Info Center Settings against 'check for new online content' set to 4 hours by default.

There is a 'sign in' icon top right in 2012 - what is that about ( I don't want to sign in to find out )

It is a sign in with an Autodesk SSO account. Basically it "pre" signs you in to the WikiHelp system. So if you execute a search you are already logged on to WikiHelp. Not that you need to be signed in to get any information, it just eliminates the sign on step if you want to make a comment or edit/add content.

It aslo eliminates the need to sign on to do an energy analysis run on Revit massing using the conceptual energy tools.

                    I think that is it....for now. >:-)
