It seems that grids within a linked model won’t show if they are associated to a scope box.
Anybody ever heard of this before?
We're linking our Structural consultant's mole into our Arch and Grids were not showing up.
They say they have traced it to the Scope box, but I've never seen that before.

CADsplaining: When a BIM rookie tells you how you should have done something.
There are a bunch of *gotchas* related to whats set in the Linked File and whether you can see something or not in your file (which has their file linked).
If the grids are on a Workset set to not be visible by default, it USED to be the case that you had no way to see that workset ever. That may have changed when Workset visibility state changed, but i wouldnt know as i dont use them for that. Regardless, in their model i would check it out.
If their scope box pushes the 3D extents of the grid beyond (or out of) your view range, it makes sense you wont be able to see it. It might show in their drawings if they are using 2D extents, which wont show in your drawings without By Linked View.
Also remember if you have a workset unloaded in your model, and its named the same as one in theirs, theirs will hide too...
Can you open their model, see if Scope Boxes are applied, if so un-associate, then save and reload link as a test?
We usually have a Arch. Shell Model and Interiors Model.
Then Struct. and MEP models from consultants are linked into ours.
We typically generate the Grid in our Shell, and then use Copy/Monitor to the other models.
We also usually use Scope Boxes, and have not had the problem of not seeing the grids in linked models.
We usually turn them off in View Templates, though.

Hello, I'm working with a linked file. Setting up views with scope boxes, some of the grids from the link are behaving correctly and some off shooting...
We have a couple of project where our client has tied some of their grids to a scope box. When we link in their file we are only able to see the grids...
Overall plans, elevations, building sections - grid center segment set to none.
Block plans,...
