Exporting DWG and DXF causing fatal error

Any idea what may be causing this? Exporting from a 3D view.

Could you provide any more specifics on the issue? Exporting certain types of view? Sheets? Size of project? Etc? The more information, the better chance another seasoned vets in this forum may be able to identify the issue.

I have had similar/quirky instances of Revit crashing when trying to print or export PDF/DWG of certain sheets or views within a project. Unfortunately persistence and luck prevails and it sometimes clears up.

3D overall default view. Not really sure how to quantify size of project, but I was able to export the structural model from the same design team without issue, it's just crashing on the architectural model for some reason.

What is your end goal? Export model in 3D DWG to open in another program? There may be other formats you could try in that case, IFC, FBX, SAT possibly. If you need only a portion of the building use a scope box to hide/crop the parts that you don't need and try exporting that to any of the file types you are attempting.

Maybe make a copy of your model file, and try auditing the file, purging out unused families, and review/fix your warnings and see if any of that could be an issue. Then try export....

Sounds like some systematic troubleshooting is in order. Let us know if you uncover anything else.

I need to get these models into Navisworks, and exporting them to nwc files is creating a separate issue. One suggested fix was to export to DWG instead.
