[All Verticals] - Edit/open DWG shortcuts

    Applies to: - All Verticals

    New Feature / Problem:
Would like to be able to open a DWG / launch ACAD from within Revit.

Why do you need this Feature / Why is it a Problem:
Because it can be quite time-consuming to launch ACAD and then hunt down the linked DWG buried deep in some folder looking for a file with a file name you can't quite remember.

    Workflow:
Could be as simple as right click on a linked DWG in Revit and launch ACAD / open the linked DWG.

Could also be buttons in the link manager. Select linked DWG, push button and launch ACAD / open the linked DWG. Or right click on the DWG in the link manager, etc.

Would be nice if Revit could also cue if a link has been changed and then incorporate the reload command. Rather like ACAD notices changed xref's and asks to reload.

    Benefits:
    Save time.

A lot easier to code than adding a new rending engine or a dynamo player.
