[11/2011] - More Control of Schedules

    Applies to: - All Verticals

    New Feature / Problem:
    "Filter" tab:
-The addition of "or" and "if" to the filter expressions. Currently you can only perform the "and" expression.
-Add the ability to filter by "Type" and "Family and Type"
-Add the ability to have more than 4 filter expressions.

    "Sorting/Grouping" tab:
-Add the ability to sort by more than 4 sorting parameters.

Why do you need this Feature / Why is it a Problem:
The inability to filter by more than the "and" expressions limits the user from having complete control over the schedules output.

Unlocking the ability to control schedules by "Type" or "Family and Type" will improve the control of our schedules.

Adding more than 4 filter/sorting parameters will give us greater control over our schedules.

    Workflow:
    "Filter" tab:
-add the option of "and", "if", "or" to each line of filtering.
-add all parameters to the filter options.

    Benefits:
More control over the schedules. Increased useability of the scheduling power of Revit.

This is similar to what you want... more general though... I want Revit to become a real database handling app and that means to be able to make relations and connections between building elements, costs, generic params etc easily... and of course to have a user defined presentation format, something like tables or reports...
Revit Architecture - 3ds MAX Design - Octane Render - and many working hours...

Add the ability to actually print Conditional formatting...

use calc values outside the schedule.
control layout in the schedule view in stead of on sheet.
        zoom.
        multi line schedule fields.
unlock all data, such as mirrored elements or element coordinates.
There must be a better way...

          Yes!

And the small things with the most impact would indeed be printable Conditional Formating, mirrored acces on the front end, cooridate acces on the front end.

(Oh, and add in Project Browser sorting while you're at it )

            Use/add ALL ootb parameters
Actually use the Count-parameter in calc. values.

The list goes on and on...

IMHO it always has been, in various manifestations. didn't turn up in the wishlist shortlist though.

I'm starting to play around with the ODB export's. And it seems there are some hidden parameters not available in the schedules.....

Curtain panels, doors, windows do have a host parameter
                    Walls have level parameters.

Just a few examples, making them available in the schedules would be nice.
