Autodesk University: The Submissions Are In!

The AU 2011 Call for Proposals is now closed. Starting Monday, May 9, a team of nearly 200 industry experts and track managers began pouring over the class proposals. We are excited to see proposals from over 700 veteran AU speakers. We're also pleasantly surprised that 300 additional Autodesk® product users are willing to step up to the microphone and contribute to AU. "New blood" keeps AU fresh—we try to have about 20 percent new speakers every year.
    A few more fun stats:
    • 2,250 total proposals submitted
    • 1,043 professionals, representing 647 companies, proposed at least one class
    • Proposals arrived from 44 different countries—75 percent of the proposals came from the U.S.
    • Autodesk employees submitted 470 proposals
    • Customers, channel partners, and AU community members submitted 79 percent of the proposals

During the next few weeks, the content team will review each proposal to develop an intentional, forward-looking curriculum for AU and AU Virtual. The team examines important industry trends, speaker performance, and feedback from last year's AU to determine the classes offered for AU 2011.
We expect to have a first draft of classes ready for internal review by late May. After a review cycle, we'll be able to notify speakers whether their classes are in for AU 2011 in the latter half of June. *Next, our team edits the class lists and publishes them to the AU website by mid-August.*
It's very exciting to see the most important part of AU—the training curricula for each track—take shape. What will you hear about at AU 2011? For a hint, check out this word cloud made up of terms included in the titles of the class proposals submitted this year.
