Well, the prize is for me, not you. But I’ll give rides or let you borrow the car when it’s done! LOL
I have been selected a top 10 finalist in a $20,000 contest to win the electrical components necessary to build my first electric car. Please go to my entry page and vote for my design! To vote, just click Vote For Colin's Entry!
Click on the button at the top right to "Vote For This Finalist.”
You will have to enter a few bits of information about yourself. It is only used to make sure people aren't voting more than once.
To see the other nine entries, click here. Choose mine if you think it’s good!
My proposal is to build a fiberglass-bodied replica of a customized 1939 Lincoln Zephyr (fiberglass for the lighter weight.) Head to the entry page to see the rest of my write-up!
If I win, I will receive $20,000 worth of Lithium batteries, a Motor, controller, and other ancillaries to help offset the cost of the build. It’s enough to provide a 30kW battery pack and a 120 mile range (about the same as the new Nissan Leaf. Only not as lame.)
I think I have a real shot! Most of the entrants already have cars built and converted to electric, so for me to win would be a great way to ADD an EV to the roads.
As any of you who have been subjected to my Electric Vehicle diatribes know, I think it’s imperative that we get more EVs on the roads (for so many reasons) and I am a HUGE advocate, but I believe it will be accomplished in as much a grassroots effort in “100,000 garages across America” as any manufacturer…
Voting ends August 31, but please don’t waste time! I need all the help I can get! Please pass along…
Thank You!
