Revit Vs ACA

Want to know the difference?? I have to add a carwash to a lube center that was ready for permitting. The entire thing is done in ACA using project navigator and Xrefs.

How do I feel about it after putting away a few projects in Revit?? :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I miss Revit, and I've only just started revising these plans. If we didn't need them by next week, I'd scratch the whole project and start from scratch in Revit.

I never realize how much ACA is lacking until I have to do something in it. So, to put this question to rest, ditch Acad, get Revit, and be happy :laugh:

Next week? That gives you plenty of time to redo it in Revit

But yah... If you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have said that AutoCad is like riding a bike - But after 4-5 years of absence, it turns out that I´ve forgotten pretty much everything - Even going in to get dimensions is causing me problems now

The most I'll do in ACAD any more is extract a site plan to trace a driveway, etc. It's all antiquated garbage otherwise.

Just be aware that Dzatto is not talking about AutoCAD, like Munkholm and Gwnelson are commenting about. Dzatto is talking about ACA, which is AutoCAD Architecture (formerly known as Architectural Desktop). I would never call that program "garbage".

Eh, i might not call it garbage, but i dont think its anything great, either.

It does some things really well, and a whole mess of things really terribly. Every time i go in it im thankful i dont work in it anymore.

LOL - Yah, there´s a big difference... ACA/ADT did improve a lot of things over ACAD, but I hated the 100´s of files and xref´s - At least in ACAD we could work in one file as we do in Revit

Garbage... Not anything great... Who cares what term we use - All that matters are that we now have (to us) a better way to accomplish our work :beer:

I've seriously thought about it. But it's more of an add on, not a full remodel. So the lube plans are still good. Plus, I do it all: MEP, Structural, Detailing, Site design, etc. etc.

That's a lot to undertake in a week. I could get the plans done, but all the details would kill me. :laugh:

Hell, I can't even remember how I offset the bottom of my walls for a brick ledge. I can't unlock my layers in the wall edit section. :banghead: :laugh: Kidding of course.
