Revit 2011 MEP and Architectural Processors

what is better to choose as a pc processor for Revit MEP 2011
Intel I5-650 processor or Quad 2 core 9400?

    please help

The i5-650 is the better choice for MEP.

(for the record, I would recommend spending more money on a faster CPU, but I can appreciate that some users may be in positions where another $300 US breaks the bank)

Now I´m getting curious... is it a better choice for MEP, or a better choice for Revit in general ? And if only for MEP, why?

In general, the 650 is hands down a better CPU for Revit.

However, we're comparing a dual core to a quad core. The dual core i5-650 has much faster cores, but only two of them compared to the quad core 9400. If you do a ton of rendering, it's possible the 9400 would squeak by for a win, but probably not by much.

Thanks Iru - Was wondering if MEP has some special features that would make it require specific hardware specs - Guess not, but thanks for the explanation
