    Excluding Blog Feeds from Search

I just tried doing a forum search using a couple keywords, and got dozens of "blog" posts as part of the search results. Is there a way to exclude the blog posts from search results?

Yah, without having looked at the code, I´m sure it´s feasible. Should we exclude them from all searches, or make it a yes/no option?

      An option would be nice.

I would vote for the option too.. Might want to tie it into the New Post Blog feed option?

I find that if I visit the site using my shortcut, uses the New Post's url and criteria, it doesn't offer me the reduced results. In order to see the filtered search results I have to visit the forum main page, log in and then the New Post menu item includes the "exclude" part of the search string criteria. If I use the New Post button before logging in and then log in, I don't get the "exclude" criteria. It's two different "pages" being served up and the New Post customization doesn't occur unless I'm careful about visiting and logging in.

Oh and sorry, this post should have been added to the other blog feeds threads. Missed that this one is different...sorry.

Wishes to not see the blog post is almost a trend already! Maybe we should just stop the blog feeds and delete that sub-forum? - Those who´ll miss it, could get directions on how to setup a RSS reader instead?

Please no... Great thing about this, I don't have to use a rss reader anymore.

Re "search results", an "option" might be helpful to some users, but I really hesitate to make things more complicated.

I know how challenging it is to get users to use the "search" function to begin with (which became a real problem, IMO, with AUGI), and all the blog post results can make forum searches useless. I vote to can it from general search results... and if it's easily possible, only have blog results when searching the blog sub-forum specifically - that would actually be kind of cool.

Valid point... I agree: don't include them (if you want that, do a google search). Would certainly be cool if one could search the blog subforum..

Excluded all posts in the "Blog Feeds" sub-forum from the search index. Meaning that they won´t show up in any search, and nor is there a option to include them.
