Thank you for all the hard work to get the Forum back online, Munk! Every time I clicked and saw the dead link, a piece of my soul flaked off and disintegrated in the pool of AUGI waiting below...

Either way, glad it's back. I didn't withdrawal from RFO, my withdrawals were with not being able to see Aaron completely shred into people, haha. KIDDING. Not really. Okay maybe. Nooooo I'm totally kidding.

    PS: Totally not kidding.
I have some experience with Xenforo both on the front and on the backend and that feels better to me. But switching software is a lot of work and a pain in the ass if you are not really comfortable yet with the new software. So for now I'm just happy we are back in the air !

Testing here. I didn't have problems until late last week, when I got the database error

Edit: Interesting - first time i tried to post it gave me the message too short error (it wasn't) I decided to test once more before clearing the cache and it worked.

It's back to super messed up, where I am. Worked for an hour, then died again. I'm back to only being able to get here on cell data. And can't post properly from a computer.

    Hi all.

I´m truly sorry for the messed-up forum, and downtime the past two weeks. The following is to the best of my knowledge an explanation, but not an excuse.

April 25th the forum started messing up, some could access and post, some could access but not post, and other couldn’t even access the forum. In the meanwhile, I was laying in bed with a fever.

On April 29th I found the energy and time to look into it, and found some broken tables in the database, which mostly got fixed, and upgraded vB to 4.2.3, which seemed to work, but only for a short time.

May 1st, I gave up fixing it myself, and paid Vbulletin Support to look into it. They tried really hard, and we decided to go for their Cloud based hosting, which turned out to be a bad decision and a total mess. So ended up switching back to LeaseWeb (former Servint)

Still all jacked up, tried upgrading the forum to 4.2.5 but to no prevail, since the server was running old Centos 5, and did not support PHP 5.6.0 ?? WTF ! (We´ve been paying for a managed VPS)

May 3rd a dear friend of mine died at age 44, which threw me “off” for a few days.

Suspected DNS issues, and found our IP on a blacklist, which I got delisted in a hurry, but still no go.

May 8th I got in touch with urljet.com (Hosting company and vB experts), and got them to migrate the forum to their servers. They have so far done an excellent job, but had some problems with the old Centos 5 (now on Centos 7), and had to fix further broken tables in the database.

May 9th – Had to spend most of the day attending my friends funeral.

May 10th - The migration is now COMPLETE, and I´m hoping that everything is back to normal.

The FUTURE ? We´re now hosted at urljet.com who will take care of not only the server, but also the vBulletin maintenance and upgrades. It can also turn out to be much cheaper, but no promised yet, since I may have to upgrade to a bigger package, which the next few weeks will tell. So if you experience the forum to be slow, PLEASE let me know !

Thanks a lot to all of you who offered to help.

Again. I´m truly sorry, but rest assured that RFO is here to stay!

Well Klaus, being sick or fiends dying (sorry for your loss) are MUCH more important then this forum, so no problem at all.
Thanx for all the effort and lets hope all the trouble is gone now.
