    Reputation points?

I just tried to give Mark B a rep point in the Revit Architecture forum for his neat trick about using a concrete structural beam as a basis for a steel section that can be mitered all over the place. I thought that it was a great tip. I got the "you have to spread some rep around..." error message. I have never (that I remember) given anyone in this forum any rep points in the past. Could it be that someone else gave him rep points for the same post?

I just gave Mark B. the reputation points on your behalf. Not sure what happened about the error. Maybe Munkholm can help us to check that tomorrow. (It's too late in The Kingdom now)

I read Elton's post again and still don't quite understand regarding rep points. I will say that I clicked into the thread in Revit MEP and WOW! I see why Elton wanted to give MdR Advies a rep point. That was a fabulous post about copying elements and the Copy/Monitor process...Now I'm guessing I'll be lurking in MEP more often

Yes, Dave, this forum is receiving some wonderful contributions, like the one you mention from Martijn. I can tell you by my visits to the other two forums (shall remain unnamed) that this one is the most active now. This is a small and young forum, but it is already full of activity and great contributions. So I guess that redefines the meaning of the word "slow" that has been used twice in "that other forum" by someone to refer to this forum. Slow for what?, in waiting an extra second for some stuff to load? I don't care about that. What matters is the activity, the contributions, and that has been abundant in the last weeks here, and it keeps getting more and more interesting. What good is a "fast" forum without activity? I prefer a "slow" forum full of activity!

Dave, I digged into it a little more, and it turns out that you used the old "thanks" button for Mark B on Jan 9th... That "thanks" has been recorded as a "rep." why the stystem wont let you give it to him again, before spreading some more "rep." around...

    You guys make me blush...

But seriously though: I think the problem lies within the "small" amount of contributors to the site. So it's easy to get a few posts in a short amount of time from the same user that you wish to give a rep. I'm guessing this problem will fade away when there are more users that earn your rep.

In the meantime my suggestion would be to just post your reps in words. Always pleasant to read with a morning

thanks Klaus, that explains the issue then. I usually forget about "rep" and tend to just say thanks for useful information or help so it surprised me when I couldn't give him a rep point. HEY MARK B...THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
