    Didn't Take Long

Please put your sense of humor on...if you don't have one (or yours isn't like mine) you should probably not read this.

RF is already behaving like "AUGI", doing stuff to change the site without discussing it with members first! I now have to log in to click the New Posts button on the forum menu bar. I had a shortcut that I could hit to see "new posts" quickly without having to log in each time. Sure I can have the site remember me...but I could pop in and out...now I can't without doing that. I can see where RF would like members to log in to see/track activity. I can also see where certain features can/ought to be restricted to logged in members.

Where was the discussion about such a change? Why didn't I get a notice about this change taking place?

I realize that this, intended as tongue-in-cheek, problem isn't remotely of the same ilk as the forum issue over there. However as a group grows little stuff like this does start to generate perceptions that an organization can't "control" except to say sorry or tough or we will change it back. Just a little perspective from a been there done that point of view...fwiw.

Back to your regularly scheduled Revit day, if you like!

Ha ha Steve, I get the point

But ehhhm... What you describe above, may actually be due to a REQUEST from the users (se this thread)!

In short: When I first installed vBulletin, I made an error in the "path to save cookies", and by request from the users (mentioned in the above link) I got it fixed

I would think that if you cleared your cookies for this site (where have I heard that recently ??), it would no longer be neccecary to login to use the "New Posts" button...

And for the record, only viewing ATTACHMENTS will require a login... the rest is out in the open for anyone to read.

    So yah, back to work

Well I tried that before. I don't see the button for New Posts (upper left corner) unless I log in. Cleared cache and cookies... I'll try again, again just in case.

I just tried. The New Posts button is there, and it┤s working.

Thanks Alf - Anyone else NOT seeing it ?

Edit: Have just enabled "search" for unregistered users... the "New posts" is actually a search string... Any better now ?

Maybe I was mistaken... there is a "Today's Posts" when I'm logged out... is that the same thing as "New Posts" that I see when I'm logged in? Maybe the names can match?

Did you log out, clear your cache and clear your RFO cookies?
