The reason is probably the forum software (just a guess?). vBulletin is legacy software from what I hear. Many other options out there. One forum I'm on uses Invision Community I think... that's a good forum software. I wonder if an upgrade would benefit users and moderators alike?

Tons of Forums run on vB, and they all run great. Its been *the standard* for Forums, for as long as ive been on Forums. In fact, i keep asking forums running other broke-dick solutions to change to vB, lol!

I have been running a few forums on Xenforo, which is great, but changing from vB to Xenforo is a lot of work and I would not attempt it without some help or a lot of time
    Stuff like phpBB sucks!

It may be the standard but I've heard only the opposite on other sites using vB - mods/owners say they have to keep things going with hacky solutions. I mean, vB doesn't have native mobile support, where as other forum software has mobile versions baked in.

And I do think it's a bit ironic that as you say vB runs great, here we are on a thread with issues and nobody has a real answer for it lol. I'm no forum software guru at all so ultimately my opinion in the matter is pretty much null and void. Just relaying what I've heard with other forum mods/owners.

Im not sure why thats ironic, honestly? Obviously we are in a thread about this forum having issues, thats why were having this conversation. My opinion is just as null and void, mind you.

But this is the only VB forum im on that has the strange issues (that arent related to browser specific things). Meanwhile, the MAJORITY of the non vb forums im on, all blow.

But i was just weighing in, to say that not all the vb forums out there have problems. I guess im just lucky, on all the other forums i hang out on.
