Lightbulb User Titles, Post Counts & Reputation System !

Some (most?) people are very keen about their titles, reputation and post counts on the forum - So in the name of Transparency, I´ll try to explain what´s going on "behind the scene":

User titles (as displayed) are a combination of your "Reputation Title" and "Title by Post Count"

    A few examples:
"Worshiped Revit Prophet" = 2000 rep. points and 1500 posts
"Outstanding Revit Mentor" = 250 rep. points and 250 posts
"Unworthy 1st poster" = -40 rep. points and 1 post

    Reputation Title: (points)
    Unworthy > -40
    Repulsive > 0
    Talented > 10 (New user)
    Valued > 25
    Respected > 75
    Significant > 150
    Major > 250
    Outstanding > 400
    Exceptional > 650
    World-class > 1000
    Superior > 1500
    Worshiped > 2000

    Reputation System:

For each 25 positive rep. points you get an additional green image. When you reach 125 it takes 50 additional points to get a bright green

Standard reputation power = 10 (The impact your approve/or disapprove have)
For every 180 days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 500 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 500 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power

    Title by Post Count:
    Lurker > 0 posts
    1st poster > 1 post
    Revit Enthusiast > 2 posts
    Revit Tutor > 50 posts
    Revit Coach > 100 posts
    Revit Mentor > 250 posts
    Revit Guru > 500 posts
    Revit Evangelist > 1000 posts
    Revit Prophet > 1500 posts
    Title of member's choice > 2000 posts

Posts in the "Out there forum" will NOT be counted !
(Chit-chat is fine, but nobody wants a "Talented Revit Prophet" who have only been chit-chatting without making actual contributions to the forums)

A short time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there where once a "thank you" button.... Never mind: It turned out to slow down the forum, and have been left in outer space

You too??? That explains a lot...

Seriously: I was about to post that I didn't really see the upside of this. Since all the thanks in a thread didn't get grouped. So instead of a post that says "thanks", you would see this big, really distracting, message in between.

    So thanks for removing it.

Ditto. Besides, I would think since we are all helping each other, thank you was pretty much implied. So, for the next several years, thank you to anyone and everyone who has or will help me.

I just realized something messed up about post counts, and I'm not sure there's a work around.

Take me, for instance. I have a lot of posts, but most of it isn't because I'm answering questions, I'm asking them. So, although I'm a coach, I'm still clueless. lol

Not sure there's any way around it, though.

People who ask a lot of questions tend to
1: ask questions that someone else wants to ask but hasn't, and
2: learn a lot and end up answering questions later.

Somehow I don't think posts that answer should be weighted heavier than posts that ask.
Now the rep level naming is certainly more about answering, but I don't have any worries about confusion.

Sounds good. I just don't want to be tagged as "boosting my post count".

A forum without questions would be rather useless, so Questions count just as much as Answers, and is apreciated just as much, if not more
