Lightbulb Post of the Month [New forum functionality]

The "automated" POTM functionality is now enabled for public Beta testing.

Please use this thread for feedback

What determines the Post of the Month?

    • POTM is based on a simple nomination system. The 25 posts with the most nominations in a month’s time are automatically generated into a list of top nominees, and there will be a final Poll with the top 10 from that list. All registered members are then able to vote for their favorite choice amongst the ten final posts.
    • Any post on the forum is eligible for the Post of the Month (POTM) award. Any registered member is eligible to nominate a post for Modification of the Month.

    Nomination Guidelines:
    • Every post has a small button on the upper right corner titled: 'Nominate for Post of the Month' that allows you to nominate that post.
    • Members are allowed to nominate as many posts every month as they wish.
    • All decisions are final, and members cannot change their decision once they have nominated a post.
    • Once a post has been nominated, it will be become visible to all registered members, that the post has been nominated by at least one other member already.
    • A live list of current and previous month/year nominations is available here (Can also be found from the "Quick Links" pull down at the top navigation bar)
    • It´s not allowed, nor is it possible to nominate own posts.
    • When a post is nominated, the poster is awarded with 2 reputation points. (Regular reputation is 10 points)

    Nomination Dates and Deadlines:
    • The 'Nominate for Post of the Month' button is visible for 15 days after the post is made. After that period, it´s no longer possible to nominate the post.
    • The 15 day limit is to ensure that posts from previous months are not nominated again.
    • The 15 day limit is also to ensure equal exposure to all posts, and giving a post made at the end of a month a fair chance against a post from the beginning of a month.

    Poll Voting Guidelines:
    • Voting is ultimately up to the voters. Be sure to take a close look at all the nominees and evaluate the value of each nominated post. Judgment is based on one’s personal opinions – no one else’s.
    • Each member can only vote for one nominee.
    • Voting for own posts are allowed and possible, but not considered fair game.
    • All posts awarded as POTM will get listed in this thread.

    Poll Voting Dates and Deadlines:
    • Monthly polls are generated the 15th day of the following month. Nominations will still be valid for that month until the poll is generated.
    • The Poll will be open for 7 days, giving the members a week to cast their votes.
    • The winner of the POTM award will be announced on the 22nd.

Forgot to mention that the 15 day limit is currently a bit longer, to allow nominations on all posts in March

    FYI
The 2 points of Rep is causing some problems I think. If you nominate a post, they then are unable to give real rep for that same post. I dont know if this works vice a versa thouhg. I would think that if you gave rep points that you wouldnt be able to nominate the same post for POTM.

Just checked the live list of nominated posts, and while I do appreciate that some of you appreciate this new functionality, the functionality has been turned off in this sub forum, and in the out there forum.

POTM awards should be Revit related, not vB related

Just did an extensive test on this, and supposedly there´s no problems with the POTM functionality in this regard...

But let me know if you experience any trouble with this...

I am still not able to nominate posts that I have given rep points on, or give rep points to posts that I have nominated. It tells me that I cant give rep points to posts I have already given rep too.
