Is our posting font gray, or black? Its not terrible, but the contrast is lacking a bit. This quick reply window that im typing in is much easier to read that the posts are after theyre finalized. Same with the text for our names and descriptions. Its pretty and easy on the eyes, but its tough to focus on. Just my two cents, ive got strained and screwed up eyes...

Regarding screen colors: I think you can customize as much as you want. I'm not sure about this, but try this: go to your "My Profile" page (upper right part of page), and then look for the "Customize My Profile" button (sorta to the upper right). You should get a drop-down that will let you customize colors and screen fonts to your hearts content.

However, maybe if enough people agree, the default can be changed?

Regarding sub-forums: That's a great discussion point. Which sub-forums are necessary right off the bat, and how many are too many to start with? You want new users who have a specific topic to feel like they have an appropriate place to post it. For instance, would a developer feel comfortable announcing in the "General" sub-forum that they have a new product available for testing.

You also don't want too many sub-forums where users are going to feel like their posts will never be seen, which was already happening on AUGI in my opinion (very few saw it, but I had actually posted a thread about AUGI forum consolidation on the old AUGI), so everyone posts in "General" whether their topic is appropriate for that sub-forum or not. Also, as a new forum, you don't want too many subforums that it makes it look like there's even less traffic then there already is... nothing like a bunch of empty sub-forums to make the site look dead. You want to add sub-forums as the number of specific topics rises to warrant it.

So, Munkholm has made it very clear: these are "our" forums. What should we really have right away, whether or not there's much traffic for it? What can we do without for now, and wait for the traffic to increase before adding more sub-forums?

Do we need a separate "Conceptual Massing/Adaptive Components" sub-forum right off the bat? They're weren't very many threads in the old AUGI sub-forum of the same name.

Maybe we exchange that, for now, for a "Tutorials/Tips & Tricks" sub-forum? Do you add one for each Discipline?

Maybe we add a combined "API/R&D" sub-forum, if only because it tends to appeal to a very select audience, and pretty much anyone not interested in program development is going to skip it anyways?

Thanks for the comments guys. I agree that the forum count should be kept to a minimum, but yet we should still have the ones that are necessary, so I´ve made a few changes to the Sub-forums:

    - Deactivated the Conceptual Massing Forum
    - Added a Tutorials/Tips & Tricks forum under "All Flavors" (Do we need one for each flavor ?)
    - Added a API/R&D forum under "All Flavors"

Let me know if you disagree with the above ! Thank you.

Aaron ! Great to see you here.
I´ve changed the default grey text to a darker grey text (#202020) - Black just looked awefull.
Still havn´t been able to locate the StyleVar for the names and descriptions, but i´m working on it. Thanks for the input.

Iru, you´re right ! Anyone can customize the colors to their own likening But the default should also be nice and readable, to much Cabernet or not

BTW ! Anyone knows of a good set of smileys ? I REALLY miss my beer glass...

FWIW, the new colors are WORLDS easier on my Tired and Damaged (however young) eyes. Thanks a bunch.

Regarding Massing and Adadptive COmponents... They behave drastically unlike anythign else in Revit, and i originally thought it would be good to have one repository for that stuff. Its not like regular families, and not like the project environment, so having to fish through those forums to find the data is tough. But whichever. Nuke it if we wont use it.

I'm certainly not against a Massing and Adaptive Component sub-forum. I agree it would be nice to have one place for that, so sure, add it back. My only thinking on it was, short-term, maybe we wait until we have at least a few threads on that topic before it gets its own sub-forum, so there's not just one more sub-forum sitting there practically empty for a while (IIRC, in many months of having that specific sub-forum on AUGI, there were only about a dozen or so threads). However, maybe having a sub-forum for it would encourage members to post about it. I don't have a strong opinion on it specifically one way or the other.
