    Mep - system index runs

Hi i need advice on how to work out the duct length of a system from the fan to the furthest air terminal using dynamo.
I've not been using dynamo long any advice would be helpful.

Did you know that the native Duct Static Pressure Report does this?

Depending on how you want to use this.. you can also do it manually in revit if the report doesnt do what you want.
Make a parameter called 'Is Index Run' and add it to ducts, pipes, fittings.
Then select the fan and Tab-select the furthest air terminal to select everything in between. Fill in the parameter for this selection.
Now if you schedule the ducts per system and filter by Is Index Run you can see the total length and pressure drop of your selected route.

I use this for water/sprinkler piping to schedule length, resistance, static height/head, volume etc together in one place.

The next step of using Dynamo to analyse all the possible branches to see which one actually is the max/index route would be more difficult. Probably brute force, make all possible combinations of route selections and calculate which one is max pressure.
