    Can Dynamo run other add-ins?

Can Dynamo run other installed add-ins? If I want to open a file and run an add-in then save and close the file; can Dynamo do that?

Potentially. I've never tried it. Have you looked into PostableCommandId, RevitCommandId, or AddInCommandBinding? These are just the three that I can think of from 2 minutes of research.

If I have my facts straight, Dynamo isn’t designed for batch operations spanning files. It is intended to run on the open session. People are using it for batch operations though by incorporating/wrapping up operations in code that may not be as simple as adding a node. I’d visit the Dynamo forums for threads on the subject.

Well I was looking at answering the question about could you post the action of pushing a button, which could be possible.

If you would like to look at the problem differently instead of running an addin, there are nodes in a couple of packages that would do exactly what you are requesting without having to write a lot of special code yourself. Just having an understanding of Dynamo.

Take a look at the DynamoAutomation package and the Lightning package, which run in the Dynamo Sandbox environment and run different instances of Revit that then run children Dynamo files for each instance of Revit. The children instances could do anything you want, such as upgrade and save to a new location, add parameters, etc.

The Rhythm package has node for opening files in the background and closing them so you can have one script work in multiple files. I recently used these node to upgrade hundreds of families to 2020. I believe Orchid has some as well.
