Exactly. Filter visibility by parameter not Workset.
Also, I dont see how it would cost any more time/effort to select the elements you wish to 'Demo' and change the parameter instead of the workset. A parameter can also be used/managed/checked in Schedules while a workset cant.

The only situation where I would use a filter by workset is to change the colour of a linked model, as that is pretty much the only way to do it reliably without filtering elements in your own model too.

I was using worksets so that other projects could turn off the workset. This wont work with everyone becuase some disciplines like electrical need to see mechanical equipment demo. Another advantage is that you can set it to be not visible by default which reduces the amount of filters you need in working views. Filters have been a sticking point in my firm. I'm trying to convince people that they should normally be the first option for visibility and removing the need to add one for demo in almost every view would help.

@Snowy: Here's my quick test .dyn

Don't think there's a Package Node in there.

I'm not after anything - just trying to promote the whole

"hey y'all, cheers for the help, got it working, and here it is for those who might want to do the same... this place rocks!" vibe.

Oh, I thought it was clear from the screenshot. I guess I was confused by the .dyf instead of .dyn. I'll do you one better than a test. Here is my project startup so far.
