    Dynamo Player

    I've read both of these:

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...563E2-htm.html

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...CE47E-htm.html

up-and-down, round-and-round, and still for the life of me can't coax Dynamo Player into offering up Inputs with even a simple script like the one attached...

One worry/concern is that my Player looks nothing like the one in the screenshots to even begin with....? Is it cos' I is stuck in (Revit) 2017?

    I'm running an up-to-date Dynamo.

I think you need to input the data before you run the script.
I don't think there is a popup asking for input

The ability to use the IsInput in Dynamo Player is a 2018 feature.

If you are stuck in 2017 for the foreseeable future, don't forget you can also use the Data Shapes package to build your own inputs/dialogs. (Combine with the player for easy of use in a wider office scenario)

    Aha! Cheers Chad!

Might be able to hold out on 2018 entirely if 2019 (?) comes quick....

I've seen Data Shapes get mentioned a lot but haven't latched into what's it about and have yet to take a look - my work's generally focussed elsewhere these days so I don't get to play enough.

Do it, its well worth it imo. Data shapes nodes are slightly more complex to string together (but not a lot), the dialogues popup when you need them and users dont need to go digging in dynamo player, which i feel is still underdeveloped.

Oooooo. I've seen people showing off with things that look like that - and mistook them for custom api'addin thingys - not Dynamo-born.

Bjorn, when you first mentioned Data Shapes above, your post made it sound like being in 2017 was advantageous - are Data Shapes not long for the world?

Data Shapes is awesome. Even with the IsInput in Dynamo Player, having the UI for making selections is (IMO) better than relying on the inputs in the player.
