    Excel to Dynamo

    Hi:

I am attempting to replicate the basic process for reading an Excel spread sheet into Dynamo.
I have placed the same nodes as shown by Nathan Miller in his video
Dynamo and Excel - Parsing Excel Data with Dynamo.
Both Excel nodes give the same error message "... operation failed".
The File Path node returns the correct path, However the File From Path node returns the File Path and not the File Name.
This seems to be a recurring problem. I checked similar error reports - my File Path contains no spaces and no accented characters. I installed Office 365 yesterday, so I have the latest version of Excel. I am running Revit 2018 and Dynamo 1.3.1.1736. Help with this problem would be much appreciated.
    Regards
    FrankYYZ

readAsStrings default is false so you have to input true

Thank you for you comment. But setting R
eadAsString to true does not solve my problem. The error starts as soon as I connect FileFromPath to ExcelGetFileInfo

The second error occurs when I connect String to SheetName

I have no problem running it, perhaps you can close Dynamo and open/run again, also close Excel if it's already opened

Can you post the error message? (little tooltip on top of the node)

Thanks for responding. You can see the error message in the above image. The error message is the same for both nodes. As I asked above, should the File.FromPath node output just the File name? In the image above it outputs the full path

Sometimes the Excel file being open can be fickle. As Ning Zhou suggested, have you closed Excel for this?

My computer tells me: "System Type x64-based PC". I installed Office 365 this month. I assume I am using the x64 version of Excel.
