    Remapping Texture Locations

New to Dynamo, I'm focusing on tasks involving remapping. Looking into implementation strategies for when the office finally gets out of the old habits that causes the excess of the 256 character limit issues on the server when backups need to happen. Has anyone dealt with remapping the Texture paths to Materials using Dynamo, can it be accessed?

Whoops I had two posts open and accidentally posed on this one. I am sorry. Please ignore my comment.

Are you remapping the appearance paths in the options or looking for actual texture map location?

Remapping appearance maps in the options. So I merged the OOTB materials with my own custom stuff into a server location (& renamed some just to test different workflows with remapping too in case updated nomenclature is desired). I think Yna_Db is close, & just need to translate that into the nodes of Dynamo.

Well, I got it to export to Excel the Materials & associated Assets. Now bringing it back home with the new names. If someone can point me to some good resources to reference & or pointers...that'd be great.

I was going to point you to the DynamoForum post I made on this a while back but I see you found that. (For everyone else: https://forum.dynamobim.com/t/material-asset-names/4824)

That said - I haven't had much luck pushing Assets back into Revit. I did get materials out to excel, renamed them there, and pushed back into Revit. Also deleted a bunch I didn't want by adding a prefix, then using Dynamo to delete everything with that prefix. I know the materials API is still pretty restricted... Right, I believe with Revit 2018.2 it's starting to open it up some. I'm looking at a node called "Material.Properties" & trying to learn if the Code Yna_Db referenced can be incorporated. Got homework to do getting more familiar with Python.
