    Generate 3D views from Dynamo?

    Is it possible to create 3D views in Dynamo?

    My goal is to create a script that will generate a view for each workset in the project. I can create a list of worksets, but can't seem to generate the 3D view, unless i'm missing something obvious. Ideally, i'd like to isolate that 3D view to only show that workset, and hide the others, but i'm just focused on step one for now.

    I may have figured out my own answer.. now, just need to figure out how to isolate a workset in its view.

    Are you trying to permanently hide / isolate in the view or temporary?

    Here are some references:
    Topic: hide in view | Dynamo BIM
    https://www.revitforum.org/dynamo-bi...nt-dynamo.html

    You could also create the view from scratch. See image for reference.

    yes, permanently hide. One of the ways that I like to check if everything is on it's proper workset is to create a 3D view that only shows that workset, and hides everything else. Creating/Duplicating the view isn't that hard, but switching on the right workset has been dificult. Thanks for that tip.

    You want to control the vg setting for worksets (see image below)?
    If you grab all elements in the workset and then hide them, new elements will not respect the workset visibility, until you rerun your script.

    If you're comfortable workign in python, here's a good video that does this. If not, let me know, I can show you how to alter it for your purpose.

    Hello Ryan,

    I've got half your graph sorted - just can't figure out how to also get System families... but maybe you'll have more luck. It's late here and I'm tired haha.

    @amoursol

    That's one way to approach the problem, especially if the script ties into a larger graph that needs access to the elements on that workset.

    @ryntau

    If the end goal is to have workset views that only show the elements on that specific workset, then I would use the visibility setting route. See image below and the attached dyn file for reference.

    The python script is an edited version of Drew Jarvis's (from Cansel) python script:

    Regarding duplicate views: it is better to create the views from scratch so that the user is not concerned with duplicate view selection. However, an annoying issue that comes up when you create the 3d axonometric views is that the view is locked by default. The altered script attached includes an extra python node that unlocks the 3d view.
