    Exporting and Importing from Excel

we have load of standard excel schedules we use (before revit) which i have produced in revit now.

I want to create a dynamo script that uses are original excel sheets to push info into revit and vice versa

is it possible and will I have to create a new script for each catorgory? ie Air termial schuedle (using catogory node in dynamo)

    Cheers

You can use one Dynamo graph for all of your processing but you will need a set of nodes for each category.

The Anatomy of a Visual Program | The Dynamo Primer

In Dynamo, Nodes are the objects you connect to form a Visual Program. Each Node performs an operation - sometimes that may be as simple as storing a number or it may be a more complex action such as creating or querying geometry.

Brain wasn't in gear today. I know what a graph is DOH!

So a new category node for each new category? Also there will be different parameters in the different categories

Pretty much. You will have a set of nodes for each schedule you want to process.

Category: Air Terminal -> Extract Data -> Write Excel
Category: HVAC Equipment -> Extract Data -> Write Excel

The Write Excel could be combined if you are putting everything in one spreadsheet, otherwise you will need several of those as well.

In theory what you have should work. What is the output of yourList.Create and List.Transpose nodes?

I've whipped it up again using a little DesignScriptand it works fine.

that looks abit more fancier than mine with less nodes. this is my first attempt at doing a script. i added a watch node to the nodes to you mention and it just says 'function'?

Have you hit run? If it says function it's not parsing any data.
