    Appearance Profiler: Missing .DAT?

    Hello everyone,

I have Navisworks Manage 2017 model that I've made an appearance profiler for that I can't find. Sometimes it loads automatically, sometimes I need to load it, but today I went to load it and can't find it. I have no memory of manually saving it or of having any trouble loading it from wherever it was automatically saved (when clicking "load" I haven't had to navigate to a location), but it has loaded automatically in the past and I'm not sure why it didn't today.

Navisworks must have default-saved it to a specific location? I've tried doing a windows search for a .DAT file with no luck. I found other profilers I've made but not the one I need. And it's not in any location I would have saved it myself manually. I'm feeling foolish because I'm usually very good with file organization, so this is pretty frustrating.

TL;DR - where is the default location Navisworks Manage 2017 uses for appearance profilers? Why would it automatically load sometimes and not others?

    Thank you!

    Welcome to RFO...

In my experience, I have to always load appearance profiles for each session, and I am surprised that the previous profile is loaded on open?

AFAIK there is no 'default' location. You may need to employ windows search. Typing type:.dat will return all .dat files.
