    Rotate IFC model

    Hi,
I open the IFC model in Revit, but the orientation is wrong, I need to rotate the model from horizontal to vertical, but I can not.
I try to rotate in elevation view, but I get the error messaje.

I have the same issue, anyone know of any tools that allow you to quickly edit/rotate an IFC without having to use Revit?

I have the same problem currently, with a model exported from SolidWorks.

    I found this:
    https://www.gsc-3d.com/articles/2016...tem-solidworks

-And also, i was able to rotate the model in Navisworks. But not export from Navis, only as their native format, NWD. I was able to link NWD into Revit 2018, not 2017. Which is infortunate, because the project is in 2017. Hrmphh!

A very crude solution that has worked for small models is to edit the ifc with a text editor, and swap the positive and negative X value of every IfcCartesianPoint, effectively mirroring the model. There is also at least one coordinate system defined in an IFC file (could be more then one) where you can rotate the entire model. Never tested in building scale though, YMMV.
Keep in mind that derivatives, like any corresponding BCF needs to be translated accordingly.
