    RevitWorks - Door Factory release

We are proud to announce the release of the world’s first Door Factory: a plug-in tool for Autodesk Revit that makes working with doors a breeze.

2011 Metric version available now, 2012 and Imperial Versions coming soon.

Trial 2011 Metric version is available now as well, it has no expiry date but has limited functionality

Go to Door Factory webpage for feature list, videos and Free Trial download

Summary of features below (refer website for full feature list)

-With the Door Factory, any Revit user, from novice to expert, can create the doors they need quickly and easily
-Save time by creating doors on the fly, as and when you need them – allowing you to stay focused on your design and documentation processes
-Create a huge variety of doors. Choose from over 40 swing/action settings to create swing doors, double swing, pivot doors, sliders, bi-folds, operable walls, garage doors and more.
-Create any kind of door as a standard door or a curtain panel door.
-Achieve consistency for all the doors in your project by re-using common components.

The door factory not only simplifies the doors creation process, it creates doors that are incredibly easy to work. All RevitWorks Doors have the following features:

-Instanced based Wall Alignment parameters that allow you to position the door within the wall thickness.
-Parameters that are named and ordered logically making it easy to adjust the most common sizes and settings.
-Consistent shared parameters allowing them to be scheduled together easily and logically, including standard and curtain panel doors.
-Uniform graphics in Plan, Elevation & 3D.

    Feedback welcome

We need some help with the Imperial Versions
The Door Factory comes preloaded with default values for widths/heights, jamb sizes, tolerances etc.
These are completely user adjustable, but we believe they should start with a value that is relevant.

I’ve attached a document which lists these parameters (with descriptions) – there are less than 30 to fill out.

Any Americans out there who could help us out with our default sizes? We will reward with a free license to the most useful reply.
Download the document and just fill in the default values and email to us (email address within document).

We have received an independent review of the RevitWorks Door Factory 2013; it was presented at AutoDesk University 2012 in the "Revit Architecture Add-in Efficiency Lecture".

    Door Factory 2013 and 2014

The latest release of the Door Factory is now available. In this version we have implemented some great features from the feedback we have received from our customers.

    New features include:
    • A new Inter-connecting door action has been added (i.e. used for interconnecting hotel rooms)
    • All doors are now available with flat jambs (Flat jamb option has been added to Single Swing, Double Swing, Hatch, Double Hatch and all Bi-folds)
    • The symbolic line-work for the panel within plan views is now on its own sub category allowing the panel to be shown differently than the swing.
    • A Release License button is now available allowing one to easily move the licence key to another PC.

Features introduced in the previous release (v2):

    • New Contained Slider Actions: 1 + 1 Fixed, 2+2 Fixed (i.e. end panel is fixed) and Multi Panel
    • Single and Double door Hatches (jambs and trims to all 4 sides)
    • Stop Jambs can now have doorstop depth centred on the jamb (compared to having it as a specified depth)
    • Double Swing and Pivot 2-Way doors can now have opposing Swings
    • Jamb Head Width can be specified separately from the jamb width to the sided of the door
    • User Components are now available for Curtain Panel Doors.
    • Extra components have been added to the Panel, Handle and User components libraries

All these new features are included in the new Door Factory 2014 and in version v2.1 for Revit 2013
