Door not displaying Room information in schedule

I have a door which will not display the 'to room' or 'from room' information in the door schedule. The door is a stand alone door (operable wall) ie. does not need to be hosted by a wall which I'm thinking is the cause of the problem. Is there any way to get around this, short of recreating the entire door as a wall hosted family?

    You guessed correctly.
A Door really doesn't know what it's To Room and From Room are.
What happens deep in the bowels of Revit is that a Door knows which Wall is hosting it, and the Wall knows what Rooms are on either side of it.

So, yes, your door will need to be wall hosted.
Depending on how complicated it is, you might be able to nest your current door into a hosted door family and Share it to exposed the parameters

Actually Door and every other family knows to what room it belongs. But you can see this info only through the Revit API.

    best regards

Nest the operable wall family into a curtain wall Door Panel Family and use it in a curtain wall and all should be fine.
That’s how I do my operable walls
There is a pretty good example on BIM Objects / Families ::

Thanks guys. I ended up nesting it into a normal wall hosted door family and it now works fine. It means an extra step by having to create a wall, but at least it's scheduling as I require it now.

Can I ask a stoopid question? why are you using rooms if there are no walls (to host a door in)?

    Thanks!

It appears that all stoopid questions get stoopid answers!!?!

Your image suggests that there is no 'to room' or 'from room' though as the panels are hinged at their centre...

There must be some crazy steel in them there ceilings...
