Material Browser Incomplete - Cannot Edit Materials

All of the computers in my office use the same image, and same deployment to get Revit installed. However on 2 machines, the Materials Browser is popping up in some sort of incomplete version of itself (see image)

On these particular machines, you can still change what material something is - by selecting from the list of other materials loaded in the project. However, you cannot edit any of the materials, add new materials, or even add libraries.

    • The common materials libraries do appear to be installed, as I found the following folder filled with content:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\2019
    • I checked the computers' display resolutions, and both are set to 100%.
    • I have tried uninstalling Revit and reinstalling Revit on one of the machines, and i had no success resolving the problem.

Anyone else encounter this issue? What could be causing this?

I was able to get some help from Barth Bradley over on the Autodesk Knowledge Network forum - The answer to the problem was uninstalling and reinstalling all of the materials libraries for 2018 & 2019.

For my Revit 2019 - I was able to just re-run the Revit installation (it skipped the revit install itself, but went on to install the materials libraries as part of the process) and fix the problem. But when i tried doing the same for Revit 2018, which was having the same issue, the Revit re-installation did not fix the issue.

Finding the 2018 Material Libraries as an independently downloadable installation package was difficult - it took a lot of searching to track it down. Eventually, I found links to the content i needed within this Infraworks Knowledge Post.
