Did you check inside the family? Looks as though theres something wrongly applied via visibility settings/ parameter, or the pointer has been deleted altogether.

This literally happened on one of our projects just last week - I've been running into so many bugs in Revit, that at first I assumed it was just another in a long list of these sorts of issues... turned out to be more pedestrian... someone had manually "hid" the view "pointer". So check that first!

If that's not it, also check the crop region of the "missing" view - that can cause the same behavior (and if that's not it, you can check the room's limit offset, but frankly I'm not sure if that setting can cause this result).

    Good luck!

could also be a filter to hide views not on sheets if that view isn't yet on a sheet?

Each marker can have a different phase. It may be set to a different phase.

Could also be hidden in view!

Is this the new 33 things thread?

While we're talking elevation markers and visibility, if we do filter them out somehow then the individual markers will turn off, but the original circle is left just sitting there. The only work around we've come up with is new elevation types, but this then means having a potentially huge range of types if you want flexibility in which elevations you are and aren't showing. Any better solutions?

I assume we're talking about the same thing, but check the crop region of the host view is how I think I would phrase it.
OP, if the elevation line has been moved beyond the crop it won't show up obviously, so either the position of the elevation cut or the extents of your plan crop need to be adjusted.

Filter by "Family and Type" to turn off the elevation marker as well.

Doesn't seem to work once you filter by sheet as well :'( Maybe wasn't as clear as I should have been with my initial question - I want some elevations on and others off, and basically want revit to realise whenever the circle is alone and hide it as well.

E.g. If I have "Elevation" (Family), "Interior Elevation" (Type), and then have these elevations on sheets 2XXX, 3XXX, 4XXX, etc. I want to be able to turn off all 3XXX elevations in one plan, turn off 4XXX elevations in another plan, and so on and so fourth. Make a filter, all elevations on sheets beginning with 3XXX, untick visible. Hides the marker but I'm left with redundant circles everywhere.

The only way I've managed to get it to work is to set up separate elevation types - "Interior Elevation 2XXX", "Interior Elevation 3XXX", yada yada. Sometimes the "hide at scales" function can work but it isn't always applicable. Just wondered if there's a more elegant solution.
